Free Online Brain Games: MSN Solitaire

by: Todd Peterson on: 12-28-2010

Solitaire is a great game because it is easy to play and most of us have played it many times before. This version is easy to see because the cards are relatively large and have a lot of contrast. Although this wouldn't really be a factor with a real deck of cards, this online version gives a pleasant sound as feedback when actions are taken moving the cards, etc.. MSNs version is easy to use if you can use a mouse or if you are playing the game on a touch screen. It does require some manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to play it, but it is not difficult to play. It is easy to understand because most people already know how to play it. However, it does require an ability to recognize the cards and how to order cards by numbers and suits, again something most of us are familiar with from childhood. Tech note: Some companies are making or planning to make solitaire (and other) computer games which would register changes in how you play the game, and move the mouse as part of a home monitoring system designed to detect warning signs of disease, and allow seniors to stay at home independently longer. You can see more about this on the C.A.S.T website. Just click on the picture above, or here, to go to MSN to play the game. Enjoy!
