The Adidas Smart Ride 1 is a computerized shoe that customizes the internal cushioning based on your own stride and the terrain. Yes, that's right, each shoe has its own computer. It monitors your heel and adjusts cushioning up to 4000 times per second. It actually reads information throughout the shoe at over 6 million times per second, and learns your stride and starts accurately setting the shoe after only 100 meters of use. It wont teach you to run properly, but it will certainly help cushion joints as you do. The battery for the computer is replaceable and lasts approximately 100 hours, and the computer turns itself off after 10 minutes of inactivity. It''s not a cheap shoe, but it''s not pricey just for the computer built in. It''s designed with a lightweight arch support system that allows the front and back of your foot to move independently for greater stability, no internal seams to blister or chafe, non-marking rubber and a specially designed last for greater comfort. AdiPRENE+ provides extra cushioning for pushoff in the front, and in the rear it provides much of the cushioning as well. Triple-layer anti-microbial Breathoprene sockliner keeps it cool, dry and not smelling like old gym socks. The Midsole features fitFoam, an elastic rebound foam, that allows it to fit the contours of your foot like a custom moldFor more information or to purchase Smart Ride 1 shoes, see Amazon.com.
