The release date for Healthful Apps, a series of iPhone applications intended to improve the status of your health and your quality of life, is right around the corner (January 5th); we could not be anymore excited. This is not the first time that we have showed our admiration for Healthful Apps, as we mentioned the site in previous posts New Mood-Lifting iPhone Apps Great for Seniors and iPhone Apps that May Help Seniors with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
Healthful Apps is the brain child of Dan Cohen, who comes from a strong social work and technology background. His lifelong mission to provide others with meaningful and useful connections is the impetus for Healthful Apps. While there are thousands of apps available through Apple.com, Cohen felt as if there wasn’t a go-to destination to find out about health-related applications. That’s how Healthful Apps entered the picture.
Cohen combed the web and categorized health-related apps into eight categories: Mood Lifters, Relaxation, Memory & Focus, Alzheimer’s Apps, Dialysis Apps, Autism Apps, Health Tracker, and Caregiver Apps. We should note that these apps are meant for iPhone users of all ages. Yet seniors might take particular interest with the project, especially the collection of brain games. Healthful Apps is not just a storehouse for your wellness-related iPhone applications; the Healthful Apps crew also reviews and assesses new health-related apps to make sure they are satisfactory. They also plan to work alongside developers to ensure an apps effectiveness.

Healthful Apps is a reliable headquarters and reference point for health-related technology. We approve and so should you. As we are going to play around with these apps for the next few weeks, we recommend that you do the same. Let us know about your favorite apps!
