Or maybe they’re so fickle that they can’t decide how strong they want their cup every morning. Not to worry, the Capresso can handle all these scenarios. It’s got a two-hour shut-off setting, stop-and-serve mode and three brewing strengths. It also has five grinding settings, perfect for gourmet coffee bean lovers! Safety Handle Cuisinart Coffee Maker & Grinder - Thermal Carafe - Stainless steel; $161 The thermal carafe that comes with this Cuisinart is double-wall insulated, meaning that its interior will remain warm for hours while its exterior is cool to the touch. This actually eliminates the need for a wrap-around handle, but Cuisinart threw one in anyway. Unbreakable Carafe Cuisinart Coffee Maker - Thermal Carafe - Black/Stainless; $109.25 This Cuisinart also has a double-wall insulated carafe. However, this carafe also contains a brew-through lid, which allows the coffee to brew directly into the carafe and pour out of the carafe without twisting or adjusting the lid. The brew-through lid is a rare feature, as most carafes must twist open to pour. This action alone can make some carafes inconvenient because they don’t typically mark the openings, leaving you to guess or strain your eyes. The twist-open lid can also become stuck very easily, making it difficult to rotate. Accessible Filter Baskets Espressione CM-475 Digital-Filter 10-Cup Coffeemaker, Stainless Steel; $99.99 Like some of the other convenient coffeemakers that we’ve highlighted for their easy-to-access coffee filters the Espressione has a lift-up top, which makes for easy poring. If the coffeemaker sits a bit high for you, however, or if you simply don’t like the hassle of lifting a heavy carafe over your shoulders to pour water, then this is the machine for you. It has a removable water tank, which you can fill and then insert into the machine. This affords you the luxury of using both hands when placing the water in the coffeemaker, as you don’t have to worry about balancing, pouring and spilling the carafe. Large Visuals Braun KF590 Impressions Digital 10-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker; $99.95 It came as a bit of a surprise to us that the text on high-end coffeemakers is extremely difficult to read. This may be due to two things. The first is that the smaller print looks sleeker, making manufacturers opt for it in the interest of style. The other is that, as we mentioned before, lots of high-end machines contain a bevy of features that require labeled buttons and instructions. Obviously, the more print that has to fit onto a unit the less room there will be and, therefore, the smaller that print will have to be. Though it took us a while to find a coffeemaker with adequate print size we did (eventually) find a winner. It’s the Braun KF590 Impressions. This machine has a drastic color contrast, with the whites and blacks somehow seeming even brighter and darker than usual. The water level indicators on the unit and the pot are large and well spaced, and it even has a large white button that you can push to pop out the filter. This Braun model also has a very large power button, auto setting button and digital clock.
