Our favorite senior-friendly video game system –the Wii — might be getting a little more interactive. Providing you with a new dimension to the Wii-workout routine, EA’s forthcoming game NHL Slapshot will come with a miniature hockey stick. (See the picture above.)
Since the Wii was introduced to the public over three years ago, it has created its fair share of senior friendly features and add ons, that are not only easy to use but also keep you in shape. (In fact, Wii just teamed up with the American Heart Association, cementing Wii’s status as a senior friendly console.) The Wiimote hockey sticks will ultimately help to provide Wii users with another healthy, video game style, aerobic workout.
We presume this game will appeal to seniors who have a love for hockey but don’t have the coordination or the opportunity to tie up a pair of skates and enjoy the real thing. We should also note that the hockey sticks will come with a foam blade, which should prevent the stick from slipping out of your hands and breaking the television set.
The game will be available September 7th. We will keep you posted on our thoughts.
