New Blackberry to Feature Both Touchscreen and Keyboard

by Max Baumgarten on July 29, 2010

Just as we were preparing for the decline of the Blackberry, Research in Motion (the folks behind the Blackberry) are planning to unveil a new Black Berry model next week.

In an effort to compete with iPhone and Android models, the revamped Blackberry — the BlackBerry 9800 — will have a touchscreen interface. Though a lot of seniors who found the Blackberry an attractive option because of their premium keyboard need not worry; the 9800 model is expected to feature a slide out keyboard as well. Having the option to use both a keyboard and a touchscreen is quite a nice feature.

If Blackberry plans to regain its dominancy in the smartphone market, then it seems as if this new model, which offers a little something for everyone, might indeed to do the trick. Research in Motion in Expected to official unveil the new model next Tuesday; we are hoping to see a weight, design, and interface that can be described as adequately senior friendly.
