Alvaro Fernandez, CEO of SharpBrains and a member of the World Economic Forum's Council on the Future of the Aging Society, announced the results of a survey that reinforces the need for brain-related public awareness campaigns like
Brain Awareness Week, which was March 16-22. SharpBrains' survey included 21,000 decision-makers and professionals in the field of brain fitness. The results emphasized the need for more awareness of the benefits of brain fitness. In fact, 39% of those surveyed said that more awareness of brain fitness is needed, including the awareness that heredity alone does not determine brain function.
One company that understands this is Israel-based
CogniFit, which has created an online training system that can improve the cognitive abilities of the elderly. After taking users through multiple mental tasks, the system creates a personalized exercise routine to help the senior improve the brain areas that need it the most.
