A new NPD study shows that photos taken with a smartphone (Apple iPhone or any other smartphone) went from 17 last year to 27 this year while the share of photos taken on any camera dropped from 52 percent to 44 percent. Smartphones' camera quality is improving, and consumers appreciate the immediacy and ease of sharing with smartphones, as opposed to using a second device for photos or videos then having to transfer it at home via a cable or card reader, then uploading. It shows that the best camera in the world is the one you have with you.
