America's favorite social network just got a little more...social. Facebook has partnered with Skype to bring video chatting to its 750 million users worldwide. This new feature will be available in the upcoming weeks.
The new partnership does come with some limitations, however. Video chatting won't work on mobile devices, and you won't have the ability to group chat. To launch the video chat features, users will simply click on the Chat window, then on the video call button that is right above the desired friend's name.
According to Facebook's blog, this new feature is said to be easy to use — one characteristic that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg believes is missing from the current video conferencing platforms. Zuckerberg believes that by integrating this new feature right into the Chat window it will appeal to more users.
What do you think? Would you use Facebook's new video conference feature?
Description:
Facebook will soon allow its 750 million users to chat via video once the new partnership with Skype takes effect.
