Travelers on a Nov. 25 flight to Sydney, Australia, have a lot to be thankful for after officials discovered the “dense smoke” formulating inside their plane was nothing more than a busted iPhone. Thankfully, too, the plane was already on the ground when the iPhone 4 decided to “self combust.”
Reports say flight attendants quickly sprang into action, extinguishing the phone. This isn’t the first time Apple’s devices have overheated. A recall was issued last month after complaints surfaced that first-generation iPod Nanos had a risk of overheating. So far, however, no injuries have been reported either on the ground or in the air.
