Talk about investigative journalism...PC Magazine recently sent a secret shopper around to AT&T, Verizon and Sprint stores in Manhattan in San Francisco who were supposed to browse and possibly purchase a few Windows Phones.
What they found was pretty surprising. According to Business Insider, one AT&T store only had one Windows Phone on display — and the screen was broken. Another AT&T store placed the Windows Phone behind more popular iPhones, BlackBerrys and Android models.
Verizon wasn't much better. The secret shopper noted that both Verizon and a Sprint salesmen tried to sell her an Android phone instead. One Verizon rep even admitted that many of the company's retail locations don't even carry Windows phones.
No comment yet from the retailers or carriers — or Microsoft, but we'd sure be interested to hear what they have to say. Click here
