Many seniors suffer from hearing loss to some degree. This can affect everything from going to the movies to enjoying dinner at a restaurant to holding a conversation on your cell phone. Well, it looks like someone’s finally taken notice of the unfortunate setbacks this condition can cause.
That someone is apparently Apple. The rumor mill is saying iPhone 5 and iOS 5, due out this fall, is in beta mode testing right now — and one feature that’s allegedly being tested is hearing aid compatibility.
If you’re not due for an upgrade — or if you don’t feel like paying the high price for iPhone 5 — not to worry, the iOS 5 update will supposedly be available for all iPhone generations. This means if you have iPhone 3G, 3GS or 4 the new update should still make your phone compatible with your hearing aid. The only downside to this new feature is that it may reduce the phone’s cellular coverage, according to insider experts.
