
To most that practice the sport, boxing is a double edged sword. The training is unparalleled: running, jump rope, and various other exercises are cornerstones of a good boxing routine. However, the tenets of the sport: punching and getting punched, can be a huge blow (pun intended) to the athlete's physical health. But that does not prohibit the sport of boxing as a viable activity for aging adults. Like we said, those who are able to make it through boxing training are near the apex of cardio fitness. Those that practice the sport see it somewhat as a labor of love. The love for the gym, the grueling routine, and the subtle beauty.
