We were delighted to learn of the efforts of Older Adults Technology Services (OATS). This nonprofit organization utilizes communications and information technologies to improve the quality of lives and enhance the social and civic engagements of older adults. Since 2004, OATS has attempted to bridge the technology gap for older adults by teaching them how they can use digital devices to improve their lives. With OATS’ help, seniors can use these technologies to connect to family and friends, communicate with healthcare professionals, order goods and services, and earn and manage their money.
