Senior-Specific Factors Guide: Balance

As we age, we are more prone to compromised vision (which weakens a sense of our surroundings), reduced lower body sensitivity, and decreased cognitive response. These three factors lead to an increase in posture sway, which in turn reduces our sense of balance. A loss of balance is a serious problem for seniors, as they are more likely to encounter falls.
