We want to tell you about Teva’s new sandal, Illum. This isn’t your ordinary stroll-around-the-beach, kind of flip flop though. Illum comes with an LED flashlight, which happens to be attached to the sandal’s straps.

The idea might sound a bit silly and campy at first, but the Illum sandal seems to be a good investment for an aging adult with poor night vision. For instance, if you frequently find yourself bumping into walls and stubbing your toes on tables during midnight walks because a lack of available light, then Illum might provide that much-needed additional light source. Anytime you need an extra light (whether that be in your house, on the beach, or just around the neighborhood), the Illum will be of some sort of assistance. And if you need an extra light for somewhere other than your feet, the flashlight can be detached from the shoe and placed on an accompanying Teva keychair.

Here are two more reasons to like the Illum: the sandals are waterproof and are made from a comfortable microsuede material. Sometime during the month of May, right in time for summer and warm weather late-night strolls, the Illum will go on sale for $60 dollars a pop.
