A blender lid is not an accessory you're likely to find on many review sites. A good blender lid will prevent leakage, but will release without a lot of force. Rubber lids are nice because they tend to possess a good seal and aren't likely to crack. They do, however, have a tendency to be very snug. Occasionally, rubber lids warp over time, making them hard to take on and off. Anyone who has lost hand strength or grip should keep this in mind when choosing a blender. Another consideration is the handle. Many lids today have a handle on top that doubles as a measuring cup. A removable cup is a nice feature because one can easily add liquid to a drink without removing the lid. Unfortunately, a removable cup means that the lid handle can come off when you are trying to remove the lid. This unexpected behavior can be a little frustrating and messy, so be warned.
